I recently read a great business book by Daymond John. Although the book was tuned towards entrepreneurs, I believe there were many great takeaways that each of us can profit from. John talked a lot about “rise and grind” and how achieving one’s dream is mostly based on how badly we want it. For him, he grew up in New York and was extremely poor. Many would say that he wasn’t born into wealth or power.
He teaches a lot about how one’s humble upbringings can be a great advantage. It teaches one to be humble and work hard for everything they receive. No matter our circumstances, we can change something each day to make it better.
